Once during the semester, students will be responsible for posting a guest blog post. You are welcome to post on any global issue of your choice, but your blog should ideally connect with one of our course themes: global economics, the environment, education, and/or human rights. You are welcome to build your blog post around an article you read, a video clip, an opinion pieces, or other class content. If you reference another resource, please be sure to cite it and link to it when possible. Instead of typing directly into WordPress, you should write your blog post in a Google Doc, so that you have it saved and do not lose your content. Your blog should include the following:
- an engaging title that grabs the reader
- 3-4 paragraphs of well-constructed writing
- a clear argument with supporting evidence (cited appropriately)
- sources should be included and linked, when appropriate
- background information to help the reader understand the context of your global issue
- a clear link to course themes
- your opinion on the issue
- at least two tags and one category
- at least two images or other forms of embedded media
- a featured image (which can be one of your embedded images)
- one or more discussion questions that may prompt differing opinions
